Devin DeYoung

Biographical Information[edit]

Devin DeYoung graduated from high school and went on to play three years of college ball at College of Lake County and Cumberland University. He was not drafted out of college, but did spend 2015 as a player/coach with the Rockland Boulders of the independent Can-Am Association.

DeYoung continued coaching in 2016 as the hitting coach for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the Northwoods League, a summer wooden bat league for college players. From there he spent 2017-2018 as a bench coach for the Windy City ThunderBolts of the independent Frontier League. DeYoung made the coaching jump to affiliated ball in 2019 as bench coach of the Greenville Drive in the Boston Red Sox system. In 2020, DeYoung was scheduled to become the bench coach of the Birmingham Barons until the COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of the season. He was a hitting coach for the ACL White Sox in 2021-2022.
