Biographical Information[edit]

David Popkins was an outfielder in the St. Louis Cardinals system from 2012-2014, hitting .278/.346/.409 and reaching AA. His best year, he batted .317/.377/.463 for the 2013 Palm Beach Cardinals, second to Brent Keys in average in the Florida State League. He then spent three years in the independent leagues, popping twenty homers one year. After his playing career ended, he coached.

In 2021, he was a coach for the Great Lakes Loons. In 2022, he was named hitting coach of the Minnesota Twins, staying until the end of the 2024 season. He moved over to the Toronto Blue Jays, also as a hitting coach, in 2025.
