Biographical Information[edit]
David Lundquist was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 5th round of the 1993 Amateur Draft from Cochise College. He gradually rose through the White Sox minor league system and made his major league debut on April 6, 1999. He also appeared in the majors in 2001 and 2002, though he struggled to find success on this level. Lundquist played his final season in 2004 in the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system.
Lundquist stayed with the Pirates organization in 2005 to begin his next career as a pitching coach before moving to the Philadelphia Phillies player development system in 2008.

The Phillies did not retain his services after the 2023 season.
In addition to his extensive work in the United States, Lundquist spent many winters coaching pitchers in the Dominican League. He spent 2009/2010 through most of the 2012/2013 campaign with the Toros del Este. In the latter year he was fired on January 11, 2013 in the midst of the playoffs. Lundquist next worked for the Estrellas Orientales during the 2013/2014 through 2015/2016 seasons. He moved to the Gigantes del Cibao in 2016/2017 before returning to the Eastern Stars during the 2017/2018 season.
