Infielder Dave Slemmer reached AA. His brother Ben Slemmer also played pro ball.

Dave hit .382 for Missouri State in 1995. The Oakland Athletics chose him in the 20th round of the 1995 amateur draft. Assigned to the Southern Oregon A's, he batted .224/.322/.280 with 16 steals in 20 tries. In 1996, Slemmer played 61 games between Southern Oregon (.273/.346/.525) and the Modesto A's (.294/.378/.506). He spent 1997 with the Visalia Oaks, hitting .280/.354/.421 with 70 runs and 10 homers. He ended his career in '98 with Visalia (.285/.351/.458 in 67 G) and the Huntsville Stars (.250/.325/.335 in 49 G). Overall, his batting line in the minors was .266/.344/.407 with 36 homers in 358 games and 41 steals in 55 tries. He fielded .974 at second, .910 at third and .988 at first.
