The brother of Dave Slemmer, Ben Slemmer was an All-American infielder for NCAA Division II in 1998. He had hit .394 with 20 homers and 8 RBI as a senior. Slemmer was undrafted, but signed by the Kansas City Royals. He hit .208/.272/.292 for the Spokane Indians and fielded .875 at third base. It would be his only season as a pro.
