Biographical Information

Dave Ryles has been a baseball scout. The Pittsburgh Pirates took him in the 35th round of the 1969 amateur draft and in the 7th round of the 1970 January secondary draft, but he did not sign either time. He was an assistant coach for the University of Washington for two years, then became a long-time scout (over 30 years) for the Philadelphia Phillies. Among his signees have been Travis Mattair, Trevor May, Jim Murphy and Michael Stutes.
