Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Travis Mattair played in the minor leagues from 2007 to 2014. He was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the second round of the 2007 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher Jess Todd. The signing scout was Dave Ryles.

After a handful of mediocre seasons, Mattair was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds prior to the 2012 campaign. He broke out that year by hitting 19 home runs and 31 doubles with 82 RBI to earn MiLB.com Organization All-Star honors. He also played in the Arizona Fall League that season. He followed that with 13 home runs and 57 RBI in 2013 and another AZFL selection. In 2014, he had 13 home runs and 69 RBI, despite a .238/.303/.386 slash line. He became a free agent following the season and signed with the Atlanta Braves, who let him go prior to the start of the 2015 season.

Overall, Mattair batted .246/.317/.374 with 63 home runs and 364 RBI.
