Biographical Information[edit]
Dave Morey, Howard Fahey, and Fletcher Low were all at Dartmouth College in 1913, and all came up for brief cups of coffee in the majors. Morey was at Dartmouth from 1911-13, and pitched in a couple games in July 1913 with the 1913 Philadelphia Athletics, during the time of the $100,000 infield. The Athletics went on to win the 1913 World Series. Although Morey's ERA was over the team average, he did better than Herb Pennock's 5.13 ERA. However, Pennock stuck with the team and went on to become a Hall of Famer, while Morey didn't pitch again in the majors.
Morey was a two-time Walter Camp All-America as a halfback at Dartmouth. He later coached at Alabama Polytechnic Institute in 1926-1927 and Bates College in 1930-1932 and 1935-1939.
