Biographical Information[edit]

Howard Fahey played baseball in the major leagues with the 1912 Philadelphia Athletics under manager Connie Mack. Fahey was a student at Dartmouth College and his appearances with the Athletics, from July through the first part of September in 1912, may have been designed to work around his college studies.

Howard apparently never graduated from Dartmouth, choosing instead to pursue a baseball career. He played in the minors in 1913-15.

An article about his great-grandson, hockey player Jack Barre, spent some time looking at Howard's life. While Baseball Reference lists Howard as being at Dartmouth in 1912-13, the article states he played hockey for Dartmouth in 1911-12 and implies he left college after 1912. After his baseball days he "laid phone lines" for the Army in WWI and thereafter was a telephone company executive. He lived in a house near the Hyannis, MA golf club.
