Biographical Information[edit]
Versatile utility man Dave Berg played every position but pitcher and catcher in a seven year career split almost evenly between the Florida Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays. Limited to 182 at bats in 81 games as a rookie in 1998, Dave would never be able to match any number from his initial slash line of .313/.393/.407 in his ensuing seasons. In between stints as manager of the Greensboro Grasshoppers in 2012 and 2014 after his playing days, Dave served as the Miami Marlins' minor league infield coordinator during the 2013 season. He was hitting coach of the Tacoma Rainiers in 2017-2018 and manager of the West Virginia Power in 2019. Berg was scheduled to be manager of the Arkansas Travelers in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19.
