Biographical Information[edit]

The son of pitcher Dave Roberts, outfielder Daron Roberts was selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 41st round of the 2002 amateur draft but did not sign. He was then selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 12th round of the 2004 amateur draft and made his pro debut with the Great Falls White Sox that summer. With Great Falls, he hit .252 in 38 games and had 6 RBIs against the Missoula Osprey on September 4th. He split the next summer between Great Falls and the Kannapolis Intimidators, hitting .262 in 86 games between the two levels. He began 2006 back with Kannapolis, hitting .322 there and being named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Team before being promoted to the Winston-Salem Warthogs in July. He hit .272 in 54 games with the Warthogs and was back their the next season, hitting .281 with 12 home runs in 108 games.

Roberts moved on to the Florida Marlins organization in 2008, playing for the Jupiter Hammerheads.
