Biographical Information[edit]

Daniil Khomyakov has played for the Russian national team.

He was with Moscow's team that made the 2006 Little League World Series. [1] He hit .214/.214/.214 in the 2009 World Youth Championship. [2] In the 2011 European Junior Championship, he batted .077/.250/.154 but showed off a strong arm behind the plate, gunning down 5 of 8 would-be base-stealers. [3]

Khomyakov batted .182/.500/.364 in the 2012 European Championship U21. [4] He produced at a .385/.500/.538 clip in the 2013 B-Level European Championship, getting on base five times against Ireland and was 8th in the event in slugging, tied for 9th in OBP (even with Klaidas Stravinskas). [5] In the 2014 European Championship U21, he batted .389/.421/.667 with 2 triples and 5 runs in 5 games. He was 8th in slugging (between Adam Hajtmar and Frank Bulte), 6th in total bases (12) and 2nd in triples (one behind Samuel Hackl). [6]

In the 2016 European Championship, he was mostly at DH for Russia, with Nikita Monakhov doing most of the catching. He hit .227/.320/.409 with 3 RBI in 7 games, stealing 2 bases in 3 tries, but making 2 errors in 5 chances. He had Russia's lone home run of the tourney, taking Matthew Maitland deep in the 6th to start the comeback from a 4-0 deficit against Great Britain en route to their only victory. He tied for 10th in steals for the 2016 Euros. [7] In the 2017 B-Level European Championship, he was 0 for 11 with 3 walks and 3 runs. [8]
