- School Neumann University
Biographical Information[edit]
Daniel Nicolaisen grew up in Denmark playing fast pitch softball. He switched to baseball when he attended Neumann University and found the transition very difficult. Nicolaisen graduated from Neumann in December of 2016 with a degree in business administration.
Nicolaisen became the Seton Hall University volunteer assistant coach for the women's softball team in the fall of 2017. He was promoted to a full-time assistant coach position in the summer of 2018 with a focus upon hitting. He stayed in that role through 2019.
The St. Louis Cardinals hired Nicolaisen in 2020 as the Johnson City Cardinals hitting coach before COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the minor league season. He was hitting coach of the Palm Beach Cardinals in 2021. Nicolaisen moved into a coordinator's role in 2022 as the minor league assistant hitting coordinator for the Cardinals. In 2023, he was named assistant hitting coach with the major league team, sharing duties with Brandon Allen.
