Biographical information[edit]

Daniel Jenkins was a minor league player and manager.

Jenkins played from 1909 to 1921, missing years intermittently. During his eleven-year career, he collected at least 1,065 hits in 3,722 at-bats. Perhaps his best season was in 1914, when he hit .318 with 34 doubles and eight triples for the Bay City Beavers.

Jenkins began his managerial career in 1908, heading the Paris Parisians for part of the season. According to Baseball Reference Minors, he was one of two managers for the team that season. However, according to The Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball: Second Edition he was one of four managers for the team.

He next managed in 1912, leading the Adrian Lions to a league championship. He managed the Adrian Champs in 1913 and the Bay City Beavers in 1913 and 1914, leading them to a first place finish in 1914. He then managed the Battle Creek Custers in 1919 and the Ionia Mayors in 1921.

His brother, Joseph Jenkins, was a minor league pitcher.
