Adrian Champs

From BR Bullpen

The Adrian Champs existed for only one season under that name but had six players who had played or would play in the major leagues: Cecil Coombs, Paul Smith, Johnny Mitchell, Emil Huhn, Cowboy Jones and Bun Troy. Prior to being the Adrian Champs, they were the Adrian Lions. They became the Adrian Fencevilles in 1914.

The team won the 1912 Southern Michigan pennant. In this era a defending league champion was sometimes known as the "Champions" or "Champs" at the start of the following season. Source: Baseball Team Names, 1869-2012. McFarland Publishing (2012).
