Biographical Information[edit]

Dan Gooley has won over 400 games as a college coach.

Gooley set the Quinnipiac career record with 316 strikeouts before graduating in 1970. He stayed on as assistant coach from 1971-1976. Promoted to head coach, he went 203-122-5 at Quinnipiac from 1977-1987. He took the team to the 1983 Division II College World Series, the school's only College World Series appearance (as of 2010). From 1988-1992, he was 101-90-1 at the University of Hartford, working with Turk Wendell and Jeff Bagwell. He then returned to Quinnipiac in June 2001. He won Northeast Conference Coach of the Year in 2004 and led the team to its first NEC title the next year. The school won the NEC again in 2007. After 24 years as a head coach, Gooley was 449-389-8.

He retired following the 2014 season.[1]
