Damon Newman pitched in the minor leagues and the TML.

Newman was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 5th round of the 1993 Amateur Draft, and he recorded a 4.08 ERA in 9 games for the AZL Athletics in his first season. He was 3-3 with a 3.82 ERA for the Southern Oregon A's in 1994, and he went 3-3 with a 3.61 ERA there in 1995. Newman also had a 3-4 record with a 3.74 ERA for the West Michigan Whitecaps in the latter season. Leaving the A's chain, he started 15 games with a 2.09 ERA and a 7-2 record for the Minot Mallards in 1997. He led the Prairie League in ERA, .36 ahead of runner-up and Pitcher of the Year Ernesto Nieves. He also tied for 7th in wins.

He slumped to 5-9 with a 5.78 ERA for the Sioux Falls Canaries in 1998. The Chianan Luka signed him in 1999, but he only pitched 3 games before he left Taiwan. Newman was 9-3 with a 3.53 ERA for the Adirondack Lumberjacks in the rest of the 1999 season. He tied Fausto Macey for 6th in the Northern League East in wins and was 7th in ERA (between Phil Grundy and Chuck Bauer). He returned to the Luka in 2000. Newman went 4-5 with a 5.77 ERA for the Luka, and he also had a 4.10 ERA in 9 games for the Schaumburg Flyers. His ERA was 4.37 in 7 games for the Flyers in 2001, then his professional career ended.
