Damien Davids was an outfielder for the South African national team. In the 1999 All Africa Games, he hit .667/?/.722 as South Africa won Gold. Despite getting 12 hits in 5 games, he was only third on the powerhouse team in hits, behind Carl Randall (16) and fellow outfielder Errol Davis (14). After not making South Africa's squad for the 2000 Olympics, he was back with them for the 2001 Baseball World Cup, splitting RF with Clint Alfino. He was 2 for 15 with 3 walks and two RBI while fielding .833. Coming off the bench against France, he drove in the winner off Anthony Piquet in the 13th to give South Africa its lone win of the event. In South Africa, he played for the Goodwood Demons.
