Biographical Information[edit]

Carl Randall is the son of Mike Randall and the brother of Allan Randall. He played for South Africa in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, hitting .167/.200/.250 (not much worse than the team's overall line of .174/.225/.271). The club's second baseman, he fielded only .875 with four errors in seven games.

He also played in the 1999 All Africa Games, helping South Africa win Gold. He was their main second baseman and hit leadoff. In the opening win over Lesotho, he hit for the cycle. He hit .552/?/.931 for the event. His 15 RBI tied Errol Davis for 3rd on the high-powered team (averaging over 30 runs per game) and he led the team with 16 hits (two over Davis). On the other hand, he was only 9th in average and 8th in slugging on the powerhouse.
