Biographical Information[edit]
Cristian López has pitched for the Costa Rican national team.
He pitched in all five of Costa Rica's games in the 2017 Central American Games. He had a rough debut against Panama. Relieving Sebastian Alvarado in the bottom of the 7th, he allowed three runs while retiring no one before turning it over to Pablo Barquero. He took the loss to Hans Werner and Guatemala and to Luis Matamoros and Honduras. He finished with a 5.63 ERA and led the Games in appearances, two more than anyone else entering the medal day. [1]
In the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Central American Qualifier, he saved Barquero's 3-1 win over El Salvador with two hitless innings (2 BB, 1 K). He also allowed one run in an inning against Guatemala. [2]
