Biographical Information[edit]
A player named Luis Matamoros (with the above vital statistics) was 1-1 with 6 saves and a 4.12 ERA in 27 games for the 2011 McAllen Thunder.
A player named Luis Matamoros has been on the Honduran national team; he was with them for the 2006 Central American Games (Bronze Medal) and 2010 Central American Games. In the 2017 Central American Games, he was 0 for 10 with 3 times plunked and two walks, making one error, and manning third base often. He very well may have led the event in times hit by pitch. He also pitched three innings, relieving Jorge Zavala with a 2-2 tie in the 10th against Costa Rica. He is listed as working three shutout innings (2 H, 2 BB, K) but three runs scored in that time; perhaps these were not marked to him as they were starting runners under extra inning rules? He got the win over Cristian López. [1] [2] It is possible that this is the same player as the McAllen player, but no conclusive evidence is available.
