Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Cliff Shanks led Auburn in average (.391) and doubles (18) as a junior. He was third in the Southeastern Conference in average behind Joe Biernat and Todd Walker. He failed to make All-Conference. He played for the independent Butte Copper Kings in 1995, hitting .279/.329/.388 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 42 games. He fielded .927 at third base and .971 at first base (backing up Andy Barkett) while also catching twice. He later worked for the Bailey Lumber Company.

Shanks' uncle, Doug Shanks, has been a college coach.
