Westmoreland hit 21 HR with 74 RBI in 129 games for the Orangeburg Dodgers in 1974. He then led the 1975 California League with 20 HR, but was 31 RBI behind Butch Wynegar with 81. Hitting only .180 in 37 games for the Waterbury Dodgers in 1976, he was sent back to the California League where he hit .306 in 76 games.
