Biographical Information[edit]
Clarence Johns has been a minor league pitcher and scout.
Johns was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 55th round of the 1994 amateur draft, one pick before Eddy Furniss. He was 5-2 with a save and a 4.78 ERA as a reliever that summer for the Johnson City Cardinals, striking out 33 in 32 innings. He tied for second on the team in wins despite his relief role. He later scouted for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros and Texas Rangers (for whom he was a national crosschecker in 2012). He signed Blake Johnson, Jordan Lyles, Russell Martin, Xavier Paul and Wesley Wright.
