Biographical Information[edit]
Cipriano Herrera pitched for the Colombian national team in the 1944 Amateur World Series, 1945 Amateur World Series (a Silver Medal), 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games (their only baseball Gold in the Central American and Caribbean Games through 2016) and 1947 Amateur World Series. In the 1947 Series, the first won by a Colombian entry, he threw a no-hitter to beat Guatemala. He was one of the four last living members of that team.
He once pitched 16 innings against a Cuban team.
