Biographical Information

Tsung-Chun Wu played in the CPBL for 9 years.

Wu played for Taiwan in the 2002 World Junior Championship. He was drafted in the 4th round pf the 2008 CPBL Draft by the Sinon Bulls. He hit .206/.308/.235 in the 2009 World Port Tournament but made no errors in 9 games in right field and had one assist. He remained with Taiwan for the 2009 Asian Championship and 2009 Baseball World Cup. In the latter event, he hit .190/.213/.293 with 17 whiffs in 58 at-bats; a highlight was a 3-run homer off Australia's Brad Tippett. Wu led the 2009 CPBL's minor league in home runs.

He debuted in the CPBL on March 20, 2010, hitting 9th and playing left field for Sinon on Opening Day and going 1 for 4. He hit .289/.370/.399 in 2010. Wu was also selected into the 2010 CPBL All-Star Game, and he was 0-for-2. He was 0-for-8 in the 2010 Taiwan Series, and the Bulls were swept by the Brother Elephants.

The Tainan native attended the 2011 CPBL All-Star Game, but he was 0-for-2 again. He hit .271/.378/.375 in 2011, then improved to .294/.390/.388 in 2012. However, when Kuo-Hui Kao joined the team, Wu's spot was taken and he only played 46 games with a .293/.403/.313 batting line in 2013. He was 2-for-3 in the 2013 Taiwan Series, and the EDA Rhinos (the Bulls had changed their name) were swept again by the Uni-President Lions. He only played 14 games due to injuries in 2014.

Wu came back in 2015, hitting .275/.310/.325 in 20 games. As the main pinch-hitter of the Rhinos, he hit .355/.435/.484 in 2016 and he was 1-for-3 in the 2016 Taiwan Series. The Rhinos beat the CTBC Brothers in 6 games, and Wu won his first Taiwan Series title. He recorded a .319/.404/.546 batting line in 2017, but he slumped to .214/.290/.250 in 2018. Wu was released after the 2018 season, and his professional career ended. Wu started to coach the Wei Chuan Dragons in 2020.

Overall, Wu hit .290/.378/.398 with 357 hits, 71 doubles and 17 homers in 9 seasons in the CPBL.
