Biographical Information[edit]

Chun-Jung Pan pitched in the CPBL for 6 years.

Pan represented Taiwan in the 2003 World Port Tournament. The Uni-President Lions selected him in the first round of the 2005 CPBL Draft, but he stayed in the minors for the entire 2006 season. He had a 4.91 ERA in 34 games in 2007, then his ERA was 5.27 in 2008. When Yueh-Ping Lin and Yi-Cheng Tseng struggled in 2009, Pan got some chances and he pitched well as a swingman in the first half of the 2009 season. He was selected into the 2009 CPBL All-Star Game, and he notched a hold while allowing 2 runs in an inning. However, he struggled after the All-Star break, so he ended up 4-7 with a 5.02 ERA. Pan pitched a 1/3 of an inning in the 2009 Taiwan Series, and he won his only Taiwan Series title as the Lions beat the Brother Elephants in 7 games. Pan's ERA rose to 6.48 in 2010, and he had a 5.75 ERA in 2011. He only pitched 7 games in 2012, and he stayed in the minors for the entire 2013 season. Pan announced his retirement after the 2013 season, and he became a coach. he was a coach for the Lions from 2014 to 2016, and he worked as scout for them from 2017 to 2021.

Pan's repertoire included a fastball (peak 85.7 mph), curveball, slider, changeup and forkball.

Overall, Pan was 13-13 with a 5.60 ERA, struck out 127 and pitched 266 2/3 innings in 6 seasons in the CPBL.
