Biographical Information[edit]

Christophe Goniot has been an outfielder for the Lions de Savigny sur Orge in Division Elite. In the 2001 European Championship, he hit .222/.533/.278 for the French national team, with 9 walks in 9 games and handling 40 chances without an error. He finished 5th in OBP (between Andrey Selivanov and David Zabalza), second on France behind double-play mate Lahcène Benhamida. He was also fourth in walks, trailing Magnus Pilegård, Gino Henson and Benhamida. He was one of France's better hitters in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, hitting .250/.276/.357 with two runs and two RBI in seven games, though he fielded .884 at short. He led the team in hits (7), average, runs (tied with Jamel Boutagra), doubles (3) and RBI. He also was 2-for-2 in steals, one behind team leader Fabien Proust.

He was the starting 2B for the French national team in the 2003 European Championship, going 5 for 27 (all singles) with 12 strikeouts, no walks, two runs and two RBI while fielding .903. As a RF/SS in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, he batted .292/.320/.292 with 3 RBI in 7 games; he was one hit and one RBI behind team leader Boutagra. He fielded only .815, though. In the 2005 European Championship, he hit .222/.364/.222 with 5 walks in 8 games for France while handling 20 chances error-free in the outfield.
