Biographical Information[edit]

The brother of Josh Vitters, Christian Vitters made his minor league debut in 2006.

Vitters hit .318/.390/.512 as a college freshman. As a sophomore, he batted .293/.367/.427. In his junior year, he hit .340/.431/.557 and made the Western Athletic Conference All-Conference team at SS. Additionally, he won Player of the Year honors, beating out Beau Mills for one. The Oakland Athletics drafted him in the 10th round of the 2006 amateur draft.

He debuted professionally with the Vancouver Canadians and hit .244/.300/.378 in 12 games. In 2007, Vitters has hit .216/.297/.317 in his first 45 games for the Kane County Cougars.
