Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Chris Hill was the Houston Astros' 71st-round pick of the 1995 amateur draft; he began his professional career the next year. He spent one season in the Astros system, then six in the independent leagues.

With the Quad Cities River Bandits in 1996, Hill went 3-5 with a 6.24 ERA in 18 games (5 starts). He then moved to the independent Frontier League in 1997, where he had a 2.53 ERA and 8 saves in 33 games for the Canton Crocodiles. He was a fixture with the Northern League's Sioux City Explorers from 1998 to 2000, then he moved to the Duluth-Superior Dukes in 2001, then the Brockton Rox in 2002, with whom he finished his career with an 8-7, 4.12 line in 19 starts.

Overall, Hill went 36-42 with a 4.38 ERA in 169 games (67 starts) over seven seasons.
