Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Chien-Hui Keng played in the CPBL for 10 years.

Keng was signed by the Uni-President Lions when they were founded in 1990, but he was a backup outfielder in his first two seasons, and he only got 93 at-bats combined. He shared starting center fielder spot with Lin-Lien Wu in 1992, but his batting line was .197/.276/.210. Therefore, he was mainly used as a pinch-runner in the next three seasons, and he only had 84 at-bats combined. Keng was the main backup of left fielder Tai-Chuan Chiang in 1996, and he hit .254/.307/.310 with a career-high 10 steals. He had a 2-for-6 record with 3 runs scored in the 1996 Taiwan Series, and the Lions beat the Wei Chuan Dragons in 6 games. However, Keng slumped to .130/.242/.130 in 1997, and he hit .211/.318/.263 in 80 games in 1998. After staying in the minor league nearly for the entire 1999 season, Keng announced his retirement.

Overall, Keng had hit .218/.285/.256 with 132 hits and 17 doubles in 10 seasons in the CPBL.
