Biographical Information

Chia-Hao Liu caught in the CPBL for 9 years. His cousin is former CPBL outfielder Yu-Pao Chang.

Liu was signed by the Lamigo Monkeys in 2006, but he primarily stayed in the minor leagues for his first three seasons, having 104 at-bats combined. He played 62 games as Feng-Min Chen's backup in 2009, and his batting line was .212/.262/.297 in 118 at-bats. However, when Hung-Yu Lin joined the team, Liu's spot was taken so he only got 41 at-bats in the next two seasons. He hit .207/.258/.299 in 46 games in 2012, and his batting line was .196/.224/.214 in 2013. Liu then announced his retirement in 2014, and he became a coach. Liu was the battery coach for the Monkeys from 2015 to 2022, and he moved to the Fubon Guardians in 2023.

Overall, Liu had hit .216/.262/.279 with 88 hits and 16 doubles in 9 seasons in the CPBL.
