Biographical Information

Cheng-Wei Kao played in the CPBL and the TML for 5 years.

Kao was signed by the Uni-President Lions in 1998, and he was 3-for-40 in his rookie year. He then hit .225/.274/.303 in 1999, but his batting line fell to .188/.255/.229 in 2000. After playing 3 games for the Lions in 2001, Kao jumped to the Chianan Luka of the TML, and his batting line was .232/.284/.280 in 27 games there. Kao recorded a .255/.286/.292 in 2002, then he was assigned to the Macoto Cobras when the two league merged. He hit .207/.250/.226 in 2003, then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Kao had hit .191/.247/.230 with 75 hits and 11 doubles in 5 seasons in the CPBL and the TML.
