Biographical Information[edit]
Cheng-Hsiung Tseng pitched in the CPBL for 5 years.
Tseng represented Taiwan in the 1989 World Junior Championship. The China Times Eagles signed him when they were founded in 1993, and he had a 11.57 ERA in 6 games. He only played one game in 1994, and he had a solid 2.53 ERA in 11 games in 1995. However, Tseng’s ERA rose to 12.96 in 1996, and he was banned for life because of his involvement in a game-fixing scandal.
Wu’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 93.8 mph), slider, sinker and curveball.
Overall, Tseng was 0-0 with a 6.58 ERA, pitched 39 2/3 innings and struck out 16 in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
