Charl Cordier
Charl Cordier was a second baseman for the South African national team that won the 2019 Africa Cup Baseball Championship. In the finale, he hit a grand slam off Uganda's Bernard Adei as South Africa routed. His 10 RBI in the five games tied MVP Kyle Botha for the lead. He hit .353/.353/.706 and also scored ten runs. He was next-to-last among South Africa's regulars in average (ahead of Tyler Croft) but was 2nd in the event in runs (one behind Botha), tied Dayle Feldtman for 9th in total bases and was 9th in slugging (between Benjamin Smith and Lassina Sanfo). Despite his success, he was not with South Africa for the 2019 Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier.
