(Redirected from Carnegie Institute of Technology)
- Location: Pittsburgh, PA
- Nickname: Tartans
- Division: Dropped Baseball
Carnegie Mellon University was formed in 1967 by the merger of the Carnegie Institute of Technology and the Mellon Institute of Industrial Research.
Only two players have come to the major leagues from the school, both from Carnegie Institute of Technology before the merger. Hans Lobert is by far the most prominent while the other was pitcher John McGraw. Paul Benoit and Keith Law also went here. Honus Wagner coached here at one point. Sportswriter Gerry Fraley studied here after the merger.
