Biographical Information[edit]

Reliever Carmine Giardina played in the minor leagues from 2010 to 2015. He was drafted three times, last by the Los Angeles Angels in the 15th round of the 2010 amateur draft (one pick ahead of pitcher Chase Whitley). The first time he was drafted, in 2006 amateur draft, he was taken ahead of pitcher Luke Gregerson.

He had two seasons of note. In 2012, he averaged 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings, whiffing 90 batters in 69 1/3 innings between two teams. In 2013, he had a 3.00 ERA and averaged a K per frame, also between two teams. Overall, he was 11-10 with a 4.23 ERA in 141 games.

He was signed by scout Tom Kotchman.
