Carlos Morla pitched five seasons in the minor leagues.

Morla debuted in 2000 with the DSL Red Sox, going 3-2 with a 2.32 ERA. In 2002, he went 2-2 with a 2.60 ERA for the same club. He was 2-2 with 7 saves and a 5.40 ERA for the 2003 Augusta Green Jackets, leading the team in saves. He allowed only a .224 average.

Morla split 2004 between Augusta (1-1, 2 Sv, 1.56 in 22 G) and the Sarasota Red Sox (1-1, 7.71, .308 opponent average in 13 G). He was with the Piratas de Campeche in 2006 and went 0-1 with a save and a 4.91 ERA in five games to end his minor league career.

Carlos was with the Dominican national team in the 2006 COPABE Olympic Qualifiers, going 0-2 but with a team-best 2.70 ERA. He remained with the Dominican squad for the 2007 Pan American Games. He got the crucial start against the Nicaraguan national team to determine who would go to the semifinals; Morla allowed two first inning runs on an Edgard Lopez single, a walk to Jorge Avellan, a sacrifice bunt, a single by Justo Rivas and an error by Jorge Meran. He shut out Nicaragua for the next 7 innings but the Dominican lineup (despite six former major leaguers) failed to score off Armando Hernández and Morla took the loss.
