Biographical Information

Carlos Mesa hit .186/.287/.314 for Matanzas in 2006-2007 and was 1-2 with a 4.84 ERA for them in 2007-2008, batting .203/.290/.220. After defecting, he played in the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox chains from 2011-2016, batting .219/.262/.363, primarily as an outfielder.

Mesa coached for the DSL Diamondbacks 1 in 2017, Hillsboro Hops in 2018, and Kane County Cougars in 2019. He was scheduled to be a coach for the Visalia Rawhide before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19.
