Biographical Information[edit]

The Cincinnati Reds signed Carlos Bohorquez in 1999 as an undrafted free agent. He played third base for the VSL Reds squad for three years before the Reds released him. He went back home and converted himself into a pitcher who could reach the low 90s with his fastball. The Reds re-signed him and he pitched for six years in their minor league system, reaching as high as AA in 2007. Overall Bohorquez compiled a 14-18 record with a .411 ERA. Bohorquez appeared in 171 games, almost all of them as a relief pitcher. He finished his playing career in the 2008/2009 Venezuelan League.

In 2010 Bohorquez joined the Detroit Tigers organization as a pitching coach.

In 2020 Bohorquez was scheduled to be the pitching coach for the Norwich Sea Unicorns before [[coronavirus}COVID-19]] forced the cancellation of the minor league season.
