Team History[edit]

The Langosteros de Cancún played in the Mexican League from 1998 to 2005.

Cancun's first Mexican League entry was formed in 1996 as the Quintana Roo Lobstermen before changing their name to represent their home city (instead of state) in 1998. They were one of the worst teams in the Mexican League in their first decade; their best year was 1997, when they reached the second tier of the playoffs. In 2006 they were replaced by the Petroleros de Poza Rica after the Cancun region was badly damaged by Hurricane Wilma.
