Biographical Information[edit]
Bryan Cáceres has pitched in the minors and for the Panamanian national team.
He was signed by Washington Nationals scout Miguel Ruiz in July 2017. [1] He was 3-5 with a save and a 6.32 ERA for the 2018 DSL Nationals then 3-5 with two saves and a 4.11 ERA the next summer. The 2020 minor league season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic. In '21, he was 3-1 with a 3.98 ERA for the FCL Nationals. He was 5-8 with a 5.92 ERA for the 2022 Fredericksburg Nationals. In 2023, he pitched for Fredericksburg (3-0, 4.80 in 15 G) and the Wilmington Blue Rocks (0-6, 7.94 in 13 G).
The right-hander spent 2024 with Wilmington, going 3-9 with a 4.83 ERA. He then made Panama's team for the 2024 Premier 12. His only assignment was a tough one, facing Team USA. He retired Chandler Simpson but then walked Matt Shaw, gave up a double to Luke Ritter and a single to Ryan Ward. He plunked Colby Thomas and walked Termarr Johnson. Down 2-1, he was relieved by Gilberto Chu, who let two inherited runners score. He took the loss against Sam Benschoter. [2]
