Biographical Information[edit]

Brian McCullough pitched professionally; his great-uncle Paul McCullough was a major leaguer.

Brian was 20-14 with a 3.56 ERA and 329 K in 258 IP in college. He set the school career record for strikeouts and finished third in Longwood history in ERA and 8th in wins. He turned pro in 2007 with the Florence Freedom (1-1, 2.79 in 16 G) and the Chillicothe Paints (4-2, 2.01 in 15 G). He spent 2008 with Chillicothe (1-3, 7.25 in 11 G) and the Windy City ThunderBolts (2-2, 2.37 in 14 G), walking 34 in 55 IP overall. In 2009, he was with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks (0 R in 2 IP) and Washington Wild Things (6-5, 5.03). He tied for 5th in the Frontier League with 12 hit batsmen. He was 5-2 with 6 saves and a 2.66 ERA in 33 games for the 2010 Schaumburg Flyers, tying for 9th in the Northern League in saves. In 2011, he was with the Road Warriors (4-3, 4.42 in 36 G) and Somerset Patriots (3.38 ERA in 10 G), tying for 7th in the Atlantic League with eight hit batters. Overall, he was 23-18 with 6 saves and a 3.86 ERA in 153 games. In 343 IP, he allowed 327 hits and 148 walks while striking out 206.

He was assistant coach at his alma mater from 2010-2013 before succeeding long-time head coach Buddy Bolding in 2014. After 1 season, he moved to Siena College as pitching coach.
