Biographical Information[edit]

Brian Eldridge was an All-American infielder who only spent three years in pro ball.

Eldridge hit .341/.400/.538 in 1991 and was the All-Big Eight Conference second baseman. In '92, as a senior, he batted .382/.463/.747; he led the Big Eight in total bases (178), home runs (23) and RBI (77). In the NCAA Division I, he was 6th in total bases, tied for 4th in homers and 8th in total bases. He was the consensus All-American at second base, beating out .400-hitting freshman Todd Walker most notably. The Oakland Athletics took him in the 13th round of the 1992 amateur draft.

Brian batted .302/.339/.415 in 17 games for the 1992 South Oregon A's. In 1993, he hit .245/.326/.312 for the Madison Muskies. He split 1994 between the West Michigan Whitecaps (.261/.332/.348 in 49 G) and Modesto A's (.225/.333/.343 in 39 G). After 23 homers in one year of college, he had only 5 in 190 games in pro ball.
