Biographical Information[edit]

Brett Schneider was a promising baseball player at American Heritage High School until a diabetes diagnosis ended his playing career. He then turned to coaching to remain active in baseball. Schneider attended the University of North Florida where he earned a degree in sport management. During this time he worked as a student assistant coach for three years followed my a year as Director of Baseball Operations. After his graduation in 2016 he joined Florida Atlantic University as a volunteer assistant coach. He was promoted to full-time assistant coach after one season and remained with the Owls through 2019.

During these years Schneider was also involved in summer collegiate baseball activities. He was the hitting coach for the Green Bay Bullfrogs in the Northwoods League in the summers of 2014-2016. The next summer he managed the Richmond Jazz in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.

The Seattle Mariners hired Schneider in 2020 as the DSL Mariners hitting coach before the minor league season was shut down by COVID-19. He did serve as the DSL hitting coach in 2021 then moved stateside as hitting coach of the ACL Mariners in 2022-2023. In the latter year, his team hit the most home runs in the 17-team Arizona Complex League and hit a combined .263.

Schneider moved to the Tampa Bay Rays' chain as hitting coach of the Charleston RiverDogs in 2024.
