Biographical Information[edit]

Brett Nicholas began his professional career in 2010. He was taken by the Texas Rangers in the 6th round of the 2010 amateur draft, a couple of picks ahead of Mike Kickham.

Though his 2012 season was solid - he hit .285/.351/.413 with 33 doubles in 122 games for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 2013 was his breakout campaign. He hit .289/.357/.474 with 21 home runs, 71 runs scored and 91 RBI in 136 games for the Frisco RoughRiders and was named a Texas League Mid- and Post-Season All-Star, a MiLB.com Organization All-Star and an AFL Rising Star. He began 2014 with the Triple-A Round Rock Express. He slashed .274/.322/.389 with 10 home runs and 58 RBI that year. In 2015, back with Round Rock, he hit .268/.314/.412 with 12 home runs and 63 RBI. He started 2016 in Round Rock, as well, but was called up to the majors in April when Rangers starting catcher Robinson Chirinos went on the disabled list.
