Biographical Information[edit]

Brent Sachs played seven years of minor league ball, six in the independent leagues. He began his pro career in 1997 and was in the Chicago Cubs chain in 2000. He had his best year in 2002, hitting .346 with 11 home runs and 60 RBI for the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the Northern League. He was also a member of Team USA in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, batting .478/.536/.609 with 8 runs in 8 games and fielding .917 as a 2B/LF. He was second in the event in average, .022 behind Jamel Boutagra and tied Harold Berrios and Brian Ward for the team lead in runs.
