Brent Crowther played three seasons in the minor leagues and has appeared for Team Canada. A native of Surrey, BC, Crowther was with Canada's National Baseball Institute from 1990-1994. He was picked by the Colorado Rockies in the 10th round of the 1994 amateur draft.

Crowther made his pro debut in 1994 with the Bend Rockies, going 3-5 with a 4.68 ERA as a starter-reliever. In 1995, he pitched for the Asheville Tourists (12-3, 2.28, 79 H in 98 2/3 IP), Salem Avalanche (3-6, 2.76) and Colorado Springs Sky Sox (0-1, 7.50). Overall, he led all Rockies minor leaguers in 1995 in wins (15), complete games (6), strikeouts (133) and innings (183). He tied for 5th in the affiliated minors in complete games and tied for 9th in victories. Brent would have tied for second in the South Atlantic League in ERA had he qualified, trailing only fellow Canadian Mike Kusiewicz. Crowther did lead the SAL with 3 shutouts and was named the league's All-Star right-handed pitcher. Managers rated him the #9 prospect in the league, between Jimmy Anderson and Preston Wilson.

Crowther was far less effective in 1996, spending time with Salem (3-3, 4.03) and the New Haven Ravens (3-7, 6.20, Sv, 109 H in 85 2/3 IP). That was the end of Brent's professional career.

Crowther debuted for Team Canada in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, logging a team-high 16 innings. He had a 3.24 ERA and struck out 12 but got no-decisions in both of his starts. He had a 1-0, 2.61 record for Canada in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, their #2 hurler after Jordy Alexander. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, the big right-hander went 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA, getting the win over China. He was again one of Canada's best pitchers.
