Biographical Information[edit]

Braulio Silva first made the Nicaraguan national team at age 39.

Debuting in 2009, he allowed three runs (two earned) in two innings for Santos. In '11, he was 3-0 with a save and a 3.26 ERA for Boer. The next year, he fell to 2-4, 4.29 then rebounded to 5-5, 3.55. He was 10-6 with a 3.61 ERA in 2014 and 5-0, 3.34 in '15.

In 2016, he was 11-5 with a 3.23 ERA then 2-4, 5.21 in 2017. Returning to Dantos in 2018, he went 8-0 with a save and a 1.64 ERA, allowing a .203 average. He went 6-6 with a 4.00 ERA for Dantos in 2019 and returned to Boer briefly, going 0-2 with a 4.82 ERA. For Boer in 2020, he was 7-1 with a 2.44 ERA and .182 average allowed.

Silva went 15-9 with a 2.63 ERA in 2021, tying Ronald Medrano for the league lead with 29 games started and falling one shy of the league lead in wins. He made Nicaragua's team for the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. Their newest player in terms of tenure, he was also their oldest, three years older than Carlos Téller, the next-oldest. He made one appearance, closing out a 4-1 loss to Brazil, Relieving Téller with one out in the 9th, he retired former major leaguer Tim Lopes on a fly, yielded a double to Leonardo Reginatto and then got Christian Lopes to pop out. Nicaragua won a spot in the 2023 World Baseball Classic for their first World Baseball Classic.
