Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Brandon Claussen was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 34th round of the 1998 amateur draft. He was signed the following year as a draft and follow by scout Mark Batchko. He was permitted one Yankee appearance in 2003 before moving at the trading deadline in the deal that helped Aaron Boone become a memorable figure in the eternal Yankees/Red Sox struggle. Brandon pitched parts of three seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, answering the bell for 29 starts with a 10-11, 4.21 record in 2005. Rotator cuff tendinitis brought his career to a screeching halt in 2006.
